Park Information
Phase
I improvements to the Nottingham Country
Municipal Utility District Greenbelt Park
are complete. The 44 acre Greenbelt Park is
now home to over 900 trees – 17 different
varieties, 2 miles of trails, 8 picnic
tables, 5 drinking fountains, 6 park
benches, 9 waste receptacles and plenty of
open green space. In April 2006, the
district installed interior lighting along
the asphalt trail. The lights are on timers
and are set to come on at 5:00 a.m. turn off
at sunrise, come on at sunset and turn off
at 11:00 p.m. In addition, the street
lighting along the park perimeter has been
upgraded from single arm lamps to double arm
lamp posts to provide expanded lighting of
the perimeter concrete trail. These improvements provide
District residents with a high quality park
facility while meeting the diverse desires
expressed by residents during public
meetings.
Other Greenbelt Park improvements under
consideration in a subsequent Phase include
addition of: a playground, playground area
parking, pond, baseball backstop, fitness
stations, sand volleyball, additional trees,
flagpole, dedication plaque, and purple
martin houses. We believe the improvements
will make the park an even greater asset to
our community.
Park improvements are included in the
Capital Improvement Plan, which is the
District’s 10 year plan for infrastructure
improvements to all District operations. A
copy of the plan is posted on this website.
